Terms of Service

Last updated July 2026. What you agree to when you send money with us.

These are the terms you agree to when you use Moneque to send money. They are written plainly on purpose. If something here is unclear, ask us before you send rather than after.

1. What Moneque does

Moneque sends money from the currency you hold to a Nigerian bank account in naira. You pay us, we deliver the naira through a licensed payment partner, and the recipient is credited by their own bank.

We are not a bank and we do not hold balances for you. Money you send is in transit, not on deposit.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18, using the account for yourself, and able to complete identity verification. We are required to verify you before you can send, and we may ask for more information later if we are required to.

One person, one account. An account opened or used on someone else's behalf may be closed.

3. Rates and fees

Before you send, we show you the exact amount that will leave you, the fee, the rate, and the amount your recipient will receive. That price is locked for a short window and stated on the screen. If it expires before you pay, you will be given a new one rather than charged the old.

The rate we show includes our margin. There is no separate charge that appears later.

4. Paying

You pay by card. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment, and that check belongs to them, not to us. If your bank declines, we are usually not told why.

5. Delivery

Most transfers arrive within minutes. Some take longer, up to one working day, usually because the recipient's bank is slow to post the credit.

You are responsible for the account number and bank you enter. We check the account name with the bank and show it to you before you send, which is your opportunity to catch a mistake. A transfer delivered to an account you confirmed cannot be recalled.

6. When something goes wrong

If we cannot deliver a transfer, you get your money back in full, including the fee, to the card you paid with.

If you think a transfer has gone wrong, tell us. We will investigate and tell you what we find, including when the answer is that the money did arrive.

7. What you must not do

  • Send money you did not come by lawfully, or on behalf of someone else without telling us.
  • Use Moneque for anything illegal, or in a way that would put our partners in breach of their own obligations.
  • Give us false information at verification.

8. Suspension and closure

We may suspend or close an account if we are required to, or if we reasonably believe it is being used for fraud. Where we are allowed to tell you why, we will.

You can close your account yourself from the app at any time, once no transfer is in flight.

9. Limits of our responsibility

We are responsible for delivering the transfer you paid for, or returning your money. We are not responsible for what a bank or card issuer does on its own side, or for losses that do not follow from something we did wrong.

Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by agreement.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be shown to you in the app before they apply, and the version here will always carry the date it took effect.
