Sending money home should not be the hardest part of earning it.
Moneque started with the part of sending money home that nobody defends: you hand over an amount, you are quoted a rate you cannot check, and then you wait without being told anything. So we built the opposite. The price is agreed before you pay and held while you decide. The recipient's name comes back from their own bank, so a wrong digit is caught before the money moves rather than after. And when it is on its way, the app tells you where it is instead of leaving you to guess. Sending money to Nigeria is what we do today. Everything else can wait until this part is genuinely good.
Everything you need to know
What the app does today, what it costs, and what happens when something goes wrong.
Send money from your currency to a Nigerian bank account, paying by card. A naira wallet, bill payments, virtual dollar cards and crypto are on the roadmap and are not in the app yet.
Before you pay, we ask the recipient's bank who owns that account number and show you the name they give back. You confirm the person, not just the digits.
Most arrive within minutes. Some take longer, up to one working day, usually because the recipient's bank is slow to post the credit. You can see where a transfer is at any point in the app.
Our margin is in the rate you are shown, and the fee is on the same screen as the amount your recipient will receive. Nothing is added afterwards.
You get your money back in full, including the fee, to the card you paid with.
Your card number is never stored: it passes to the payment processor and what we keep is a token, the card scheme and the last four digits. The app is locked by a PIN or Face ID, locks itself when you put the phone down, and asks for your PIN again before charging a saved card.
Yes, on both the App Store and Google Play, with the same features on either.
By email, from the Help screen in the app or the contact page. The app attaches the details we would otherwise have to ask you for.
Yes, from the app, under Profile. Saved cards, saved recipients and notification tokens are removed. Transfer records are kept for the period the law requires of a business that moves money.
